From garage startups to global fintech, my 27-year adventure in software engineering has been one wild ride. I've worn more hats than a haberdasher - developer, team lead, you name it. Each role taught me something new, and I've loved seeing my code help turn fledgling ideas into million-dollar success stories.

For 12 years, I called the shots as Head of Engineering at 30Hills. We grew from a scrappy team to a powerhouse of 30+ developers, tackling over 80 projects that pushed us to our limits. It wasn't always smooth sailing, but watching my team grow and our projects soar made every late night worth it.

Now, I'm diving into the deep end at SAP Fioneer as a Senior Software Engineer. Banking and Finance might sound stuffy, but trust me - we're cooking up some seriously cool tech that could change the game.

Through it all, my passion for crafting killer software and building rock-solid teams hasn't wavered. Whether it's launching the next big startup or reshaping how banks work, I'm all in. Tech has the power to move mountains, and I can't wait to see what peaks we'll climb next.

A few things I’ve learned over the years:

• I still don’t know very much;
• The hardest part of software is building the right thing;
• The best code is no code, or code you don’t have to maintain;
• Sometimes you have to stop sharpening the saw, and just start cutting sh** down;
• One of the biggest differences between a senior engineer and a junior engineer is that they’ve formed opinions about the way things should be;
• Keep the processes as lean as possible;
• The best software engineers are the ones who can communicate well with others;
